Despite the Apple fanboy community threatening to kill me on Facebook, I bought the Mytouch4G w from T-mobile.
It’s an HTC phone based on a faster network than At&T and Verizon and it just flies. I have never tested the lasted Droid version before, but I love the UI, the Apps and everything that comes with it. The sad part about the phone is that it doesn’t feel like you belong to the cool kids. It’s just not a BMW, Porsche or Audi.
It’s probably a marketers dream to have such an established brand such as Apple and even superior products cannot outperform your product, b/c you own the brand.
Well…enough complaining: I love the 4G mytouch, but I hate that it doesn’t have the Apple sticker.
Even that I never took the time to visit Brazil, I am amazed how many new mobile cell phones launch in this market. Especially quite interesting ones, such as the Motorola Zeppelin.

However rumors in the industry have been indicating, that the Zeppelin might pop up in the North American market. What’s pretty cool abuot the Zeppelin i sht e 3.1 HVGA display, Wi-Fi, HDMI out, GPS and headphone jack.
Will be interesting to see if Motorola makes a strong comeback after Apple and Google are agressively taking market share away from the former star.
Motorola has joined the Android bandwagon, adding an impressive new line of cell phones called Cliq and Droid. Despite the cute names, these cell phones are sure to be a forward step in upgrading your telecommunications technology.
Introducing The Motorola Cliq
The slender Motorola Cliq is only 0.64 inches thick, and, like a social clique, is all about class, design, and its own unique style.
This is an android phone for the wired socialite who habitually uses Twitter and Facebook as a way of life. Like, say, the Flock browser, this is an aggregate of all your Web 2.0 networking accounts organized in an intuitive and easily accessible way.
Adding to the touch of techno-sophistication is a QWERTY keyboard that slides out of the phone, making it easy to tap a quick message and post it online.
An interface called MOTORBLUR organizes all your information, excluding your phone calls. You can flit from a social network website to a news site in seconds and keep in touch with forum discussions and breaking news wherever you are.
And if you do need to snap a quick picture, your Motorola Cliq has a handy 5 MP non-flash camera.
Security features are built in. You can locate a lost phone with GPS. And you can remotely clear personal information.
…And The Motorola Droid
Smartphones, like computer microprocessors, appear to get smarter every generation.
The slender Motorola Droid, only 0.54 inches thick, is no exception to this evolutionary rule. Gadget critics even argue its merits over the Samsung Moment from Sprint.
What makes this sturdily-built but compact smartphone smarter?
Besides, being a serious alternative to the iPhone, three things, actually.
One, the sixteen by nine 3.7 inch LCD touchscreen with an astonishing four hundred thousand pixels. As you probably instantly recognize, this, for a cell phone, is huge.
Two, the phone runs an operating system called Android 2.0.
And three, it runs on a Verizon 3G network.
The rectangular phone has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. This keyboard slides out like a drawer from a cabinet and does not spring out like many cell phone keyboards. The keyboard is a plate with a microphone on its edge.
It’s as tempting to review the upgraded operating system as the phone itself.
The Motorola Droid is packed with more features than can be neatly listed in a review. Here’s a quick overview: It has excellent voice quality; a 5 MP camera with flash functionality; a7 20 by 480 H264 DVD quality camcorder; a Google Maps Navigator, offering voice prompted turn directions; a Google bar for internet and local drive searches; a phone book; an email book; a social network directory; and a Verizon 3G EV-DO network. And if that’s not enough, you’ll also enjoy its long battery life.
Not sure if Motorola cell phones will have a comeback in 2010, but their phones are not too bad. Maybe the cooperation with Google will bring them forward. However, Goolge’s Nexus One might be another Motorola killer.
More and more market trends are lately released about the mobile industry. First Erick Schonfeld reportet that the majority of cel phone industry profits are earned by Apple and Blackberry (RIM). Blackberry is leading the pack with increasing its market share up to 35 percent in 2009. Togehter with Apple 66 percent of industry profits will go to these two companies.
Another post over at Seekingalpha show the latest innovations of the different companies:
Apple launching the Iphone 16 GB 3Gs and cuts the Original Iphone down to $99. Reported rumors speculate about a 4G Iphone and even an Apple Ipad
Qualcoom is another winner of the mobile revolution. Alone the Mirasol display technology will be a game changer.
Google apparently comes out with another G Phone and an updated version of Android
Sybase is the last player int he mobile revolution with it’s innovative cloud computing capabilities.
Since my BB was too quiet and the city is just too loud, I was looking into getting some in ear headphones, which would allow me to use the BB in New York, London, Berlin or wherever I am at and kill the noise around me.
First I checked out some Bose one’s, which look pretty cool (see image below), but the quality was not right, so I decided to spend a small fortune and get some high-performance one’s for a few hundred bucks. For me it’s really not about the brand and the looks, but about getting the right quality. Especially when it comes to putting sounds on the ears. I really don’t want to mess with that.
Check out the power of the AT one’s:
- Advanced electronics cancel up to 85% (20 dB) of background noise
- Advanced electronics cancel up to 85% (20 dB) of background noise
- Two-pin airline adapter connects to in-flight entertainment

Google announced the G2 and gave it away to 4000 developers at their I/O conference. It looks pretty solid to me and I really consider getting it since the apps on the blackberry are not really exciting and an Iphone without a keyboard are not really interesting to me.

Talking about good phones, the Moto Q9m seems solid as well. Just wondering why nobody talks about Motorola anymore. It’s really strange, but running a good PR department is worth more than pretty much anything else nowadays.

I know that in the UK there is soccer……then long long nothing and then everything else.
However, the new gold limited-edition Liverpool mobile tops it all:

Interesting concept Phone called CU-in 5
Not sure why every Nokia phone has one or two great features, but overall the phone is not a killer phone, that everybody wants. Don’t want to mention Iphone here.
The Nokia N73 has a 3.2 Megapixel camera, which is great, but all the other stuff in there….not sure about it:
