Apple TV And Ipad

I am usually not an Apple fanboy, but when I had to decide between Roku and Apple TV I opted-in for Apple. I am convinced that Roku is a better box. It has more features and includes Hulu as well as Amazon movies. I however was interested in playing intl. movies for when I have family from overseas in town. Netflix is good enough for that, and sharing my Ipad Screen on TV is something I like. This way the family can watch their local channels and I don’t have to bother.

The Apple TV is also significantly smaller than the Roku thing. My wife would flip if another box would fly around.

That all being said….I need a company for laptop repair in Atlanta Georgia ? Anybody an idea where to go. My last company replaced the screen of my Dell laptop and it is still super dark. I am looking for a local company, so I can scream at them if it doesn’t work out. I really don’t want to convert to an Apple (yet). Still love my old-school programs on my machine.

Microsoft retail stores

Launching a branded store is kind of a no-brainer today. All the big brands do it and I am a big fan of it. Brand Marketing & Reputation management are just the way to go these days. Especially when you are in the tech space (just ask Google).

Today I saw that Microsoft finally made the move to launch their own stores and promote their products, among others the Zune.  They also announced that these stores will sometimes open in close proximity to Apple’s store. Let’s say it friendly: This can go very ugly, especially when you think about the deep pockets that Microsoft has.

The next black Friday we might see the Iphone vs. Zune Phone war….or the Mac vs. PC fight right on the street.
Overall a smart move by Microsoft. Since Circuit City folded and a bunch of online retailers own the laptop business, Microsoft
needs to diversify their sales channels. Really funny to see the M$ giant get back on it’s feet.

But let’s see how this will turn out. Windows 7 better be good…or MS will get owned again.

Nokia Pulls Out Of Japan

Nokia, still the world’s largest phone maker decided to pull out of the world’s largest
handset market.

“In the current global economic climate, we have concluded that the
continuation of our investment in Japan-specific localized products is
no longer sustainable,” Nokia executive vice president Timo Ihamuotila
said in a statement

Pretty drastic move if you ask me…but since I’ve met Nokia’s Eastern Hemisphere President in Beijing last year……I am sure they know why.
